Boise Brewing’s story is quite unique and community-focused. It all started in 2012 when Collin Rudeen, the founder, had the idea of opening a brewery while participating in a community garden. He envisioned a place where people could pick up a fresh pint of their favorite craft beer along with their vegetables. This idea led to the creation of Boise Brewing.
The brewery officially opened its doors on June 13, 2014, after a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised some of the initial funds. This campaign was driven by the concept of Community Supported Beer, allowing local craft beer enthusiasts to invest in the brewery. Boise Brewing is one of the few community-owned breweries in the country, with over 280 individual owners and businesses contributing to its success.
Boise Brewing is dedicated to creating a strong, engaged community in Boise. They produce nearly 2,000 barrels of beer per year and are known for their innovative brews and community events, such as the Hoptober Freshtival, a fresh-hop beer festival they started just five months after opening.
Their mission goes beyond brewing great beer; they aim to build a vibrant community in the heart of Boise. Every pint poured at Boise Brewing benefits the entire community, making it a special place for both locals and visitors.
